Treasure Cay Community Foundation was organized in 2004 as a Florida nonprofit corporation to serve Treasure Cay, Abaco, Bahamas by establishing donor advised funds to support charitable, religious, educational, cultural and civic organizations in Treasure Cay and its surrounding communities.  The Foundation is designated by the United States Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 entity, and donations to the Foundation may be considered charitable contributions for US taxpayers.

The Foundation has six funds to which donors may direct their gifts. You can find out more information about each below.

Treasure Cay Community Center

The Treasure Cay Community Centre is a non-profit organization organized in the Bahamas for the benefit of the residents in Treasure Cay and the surrounding area. Built in 1974 and completely supported by donations, the Community Centre is the home of Sunday morning interdenominational worship services and the Library. The Community Centre is used by local groups for community events such as bible studies, book clubs, annual meetings for community organizations, and more. The Community Centre may also be rented for private functions, as well as local government meetings. Most importantly, it is the hurricane shelter (complete with showers and water facility) for Treasure Cay. The Community Centre was a lifesaving facility during Hurricane Dorian.  The Community Centre board is charged with the maintenance and repair of the building and grounds to ensure the ongoing functioning of the building for community purposes.

Treasure Cay Community Church

The Treasure Cay Community Church holds interdenominational services in the Community Centre on Sundays at 9 am.  Apart from a time following the devastation of Hurricane Dorian, services have been held continuously in Treasure Cay since 1970.  The Church is entirely volunteer operated and funded by donations.  Ministry is provided by short-term pastors from the United States, Canada and the Bahamas, usually visiting for 2 -3 weeks at a time, who facilitate the public worship of God on a non-sectarian basis.  The Church maintains a parsonage building, adjacent to the Community Centre, to house visiting pastors and their families.

Treasure Cay Community Library

The Treasure Cay Community Library is a community-based lending library with books, magazines, games, and puzzles for adults, teens, and children. Our selection includes popular fiction, non-fiction, and reference material. We have an extensive collection of limited-edition books and histories on Treasure Cay, Abaco and the broader Bahamas, from its early settlement to the modern day. Weekly storytime is available to the children of the community, and adults enjoy a monthly book club discussion.  The Library is 100% operated by volunteers, and supports itself through annual memberships, used book sales and ancillary services, such as copying and printing. English, French, German, and some Creole materials are found on its shelves. The Library was finally able to re-open in October 2022 following the damage of Hurricane Dorian occurring in 2019.

Treasure Cay Emergency Services

The Treasure Cay Emergency Services Organization is a charitable trust organized under the laws of the Bahamas for the purpose of operating and maintaining a fire station and providing training for volunteers in emergency services (fire and rescue).  Following Hurricane Dorian, it is supported solely by donations.

Corbett Medical Centre

The Corbett Medical Centre is funded by an endowment established to provide medical services for the people of Treasure Cay and the surrounding area and to operate and maintain the building known as The Corbett Medical Centre.  Donations to The Corbett Medical Centre provide facilities, activities and programs related to the provision of medical services that are beneficial to residents of, and visitors to, the Treasure Cay community.

The Community Fund

The General Fund is maintained for donations not specified for use elsewhere, and will be distributed pursuant to grant requests received from eligible organizations.  All grant requests are considered by the Foundation board, and must meet the requirements established by law for monies provided by US 501(c)3 organizations.
